Holiday Traditions | Meet the Team ft. Jennifer Cantwell | Rylee + Cru

I'm Jennifer and I'm the Assistant Designer for Rylee + Cru and Quincy Mae. I grew up in San Diego and have always had an influence on art and design from a young age. My dad is a fine artist, we grew up learning from him the importance of art + culture. Naturally, being a "girly-girl" I blended my love for art with fashion. I moved to San Francisco to study Apparel Design, then wanted something bigger and moved to New York to work in the field. With fashion internships such as W Magazine + CFDA designer, Prabal Gurung I learned a whole lot about the industry as a whole.  After three years I was ready to move back to San Diego and continue my career in fashion design.  I found Kelli who I knew was beyond talented and knew that I would be so lucky to work under her!

All that said, I have been with the company for 2 1/2 years.  My favorite part about working here is working in a creative environment and seeing an idea or illustration come to life. It's then rewarding to see the response from customers and the growth season after season. 

Coming from an Italian family, we hold most of our traditions in the food. My grandma makes her homemade lasagna year after year (oh and cannolis!!). I have a big family with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gathering around the table each year together is very special to us. 

Getting butterflies before falling asleep at night because I was so excited for Santa. Then seeing who could wake up the earliest to open presents. Even though my brother would always be the first one! 

Oh shoot, well I already said ... the lasagna!  :) 

Can I have a Chai Tea Latte instead?

I would say real for the smell. But, in the end, I'll buy a candle instead and use fake for the easy cleanup!
