Rylee + Cru Collective is a global children’s apparel company focusing on babies, children, and women, featuring hand-drawn illustrations and timeless silhouettes. We have three brands within the Collective – Rylee + Cru, Quincy Mae, and Noralee.
The Design Assistant role focuses on being proactive and ensuring our styles stay on track throughout the development and production stages. You'll engage in problem-solving related to design construction, select materials, provide input on prints and colors, and collaborate closely with our Founder and Senior Designers to ensure everything progresses smoothly and on schedule.
This position is full-time and in-house, located in San Diego, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support design team with CADs, tech packs, art comps, and updating lineplans
- Assist with samples coordination for pre-and post-production
- Assist design management with approving fabric swatches, trims, etc.
- Organize binders and file material library, trim library, quality standards
- Execute specific design development projects as assigned by designers
- Organize, track, and follow up with all product development and production samples
- Input and update data into PLM and Excel docs as needed
- Maintain organization of samples; this includes physical movement of samples, bins, and racks for utilization of space and constant influx of new samples.
Job Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite ( Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Proficient in CAD skills
- Strong understanding of colors- when developing prints/collections
- Ability to review and approve trims and strike-offs
- Minimum 1-2 years in the apparel/fashion industry
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while working in a collaborative workplace
- Knowledge of Asana, Slack, and PLM software a plus
- You are positive, energetic, helpful demeanor, and love to work collaboratively.
- Must live in San Diego or have the ability to commute to our offices in Rancho Bernardo (M-F)

The details:
Location: Office and studio located in San Diego, CA.
Hours: Typical business hours with the flexibility required as business needs dictate (9 am-5 pm)
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
