Our Sourcing & Production Values

Ethical Sourcing & Transparency - Going Above and Beyond

Our approach is one of passion for people and transparency in production. This has led us to work directly with a merchandising team on the ground in all of our factories who are consistently checking in on all of our production and are in constant contact with us regarding our sourcing. This critical relationship with our merchandising team is maintained on a personal level and we continue to visit them as well as the production facilities on an ongoing basis to make sure everything is produced at the highest possible standard in the best possible production houses.

Rylee + Cru Collective brands are all designed in California and made in China. Everything is made in partnership with factories that must sign a code of conduct agreement with us which states all the critical components: No child labor, no forced work environments, pay fair wages, etc. The main enterprise over the factories has been sourcing some of the world's best brands since 1992, has 30K employees across all sectors and locations, and in our space has specialization in high quality children's garments.

In 2018, the factory that produces our Rylee & Cru brands was selected as the "Outstanding Case of Social Responsibility of Chinese Private Enterprises" by the National Federation of Industry and Commerce.

Certified Social Responsibility

Whenever possible, we choose to work with factories that are WRAP certified. WRAP is the world's largest independent certification program mainly focused on the apparel, footwear, and sewn products sectors. Becoming a WRAP certified facility involves much more than simply passing an audit, they take a collaborative approach to social compliance certification in which WRAP works with their facilities to ensure that they remain in compliance with 12 core principles related to ethics and social responsibility. This process requires that all of our facilities actively engage in the process themselves and see to it that effective management systems are maintained to ensure compliance requirements are met.

Additionally, all Rylee + Cru factories are either BCI or BSCI certified. These certifications aim to transform cotton production worldwide, by addressing the the potentially negative impacts of cotton growing and processing. We are part of a global community sharing in this commitment. Through the certification and auditing process, our factory partners commit to continued improvements that are measurable for the environment, farming communities and the economies of cotton producing areas.

Chemical Free Premium Fabrics

We only source fabrics that meet a list of Rylee & Cru Collective requirements to be safe, natural, and premium. This means that every piece of fabric that goes into a Rylee & Cru, Quincy Mae, Noralee, or Play garment or accessory must be:

Sustainably made - Ethically made - Made of natural fibers (When possible for Composition) - Made with natural dyes (Whenever Possible) - Free of antimicrobial chemicals - Free of formaldehyde - Free of pesticides - Free of phthalates - Free of PFCs - Free of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) - Free of VOCs

Sustainability Initiatives

All Rylee & Cru Collective packaging (polybags / hangtags) are all recyclable. Since most of the apparel industry contributes to piles of unnecessary trash, packaging is a little thing that makes a huge difference. In an intentional effort to push back against creating waste that we can easily avoid, all of our outer elements protecting the garments can be put straight into your recycling bin at home.

By sourcing only the best cotton and materials we can share with you longer lasting, better washing garments and accessories that aren't disposable. We believe that cherished baby garments should be worn, well-loved, and then shared with others, not thrown away wastefully. This is why as a brand an emphasis is put on producing better quality, and longer lasting, products that live on beyond the initial wear and tear that endearing garments face.

Apparel for Good

As a small business, we think we can use apparel as a tool to help others so our heart is to give whenever and wherever we can. Find out more about the initiatives we support as a brand through giving here
